because = 把从句降级为状语,so = 把从句升为平行句——两个方向相反,不能同时用。
Because I was tired, so I went to bed early.
Because I was tired, I went to bed early. I was tired, so I went to bed early.
同理:although…but ✗ | although…✓ | …but ✓
for = 平等连词(并列句),连接两个独立句子表达"补充性原因/推断"。
For I was tired, I went home. ✓ I went home, for I was tired.
Why:— Why did you go home? — ✗ For I was tired. ✓ Because I was tired.
The light is off, for no one is there.(灯灭了 → 推断没人)
He went home because he felt sick.(回家 ← 直接原因:生病)
例:I know that he is right. 删掉 "that he is right" → I know ...
When I arrived, he had left. 删掉 "When I arrived" → He had left (完整)
